Our History
McGinnis Leslie's first office was opened by W. Terry McBrayer in Greenup County, Kentucky, in 1963. It was a small, energetic office, successfully providing cost-efficient legal services with its primary concern for the client. Quickly, McBrayer and partners John McGinnis and Phillip Bruce Leslie expanded the firm's knowledge, expertise, experience, and reputation.
Over the next four decades, the firm expanded its practice into the entire state of Kentucky and other states.
From the beginning, McGinnis Leslie aggressively pursued legal excellence, attracting some of the brightest legal minds in the region to the firm. McGinnis Leslie recruited experienced associates with a wide spectrum of legal skills to effectively serve their clients to round out their expertise in multiple legal arenas. The firm's lawyers have studied a broad range of undergraduate courses, including business, engineering, economics and finance, government, accounting, and history. Their extensive base of academic achievement adds scope and perspective to their legal practice.
From day one, McGinnis Leslie's partners have had one goal in mind: serving their clients with personalized, results-oriented legal services. For John R. McGinnis, Phillip Bruce Leslie, their partners and associates, that goal remains unchanged.
